Panel Mixed Stream Building Success: Empowering Refugee and Migrant Entrepreneurs through Grassroots Development

San – Founder of SHERO, a sonographer specializing in pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology, and a passionate advocate for women’s reproductive health. Arriving in Australia as a refugee at the age of five, she grew up in North Richmond and is a proud alumna of Richmond West Primary School. San’s lived experiences as a woman of color in a culturally confined community inspired her to create SHERO, a social enterprise empowering women from multicultural and underprivileged backgrounds. Supported by a $30,000 grant from the Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing, SHERO addresses stigma surrounding reproductive health through workshops like Menstruation Matters, which equip participants with practical knowledge and a support network. San is committed to creating spaces where women can thrive and overcome barriers. She is honored to share her entrepreneurial journey and insights on empowering refugee and migrant communities at the Collab and Connect panel.
