Shani has extensive experience in community-led initiatives, organisational strategy and social enterprise. She specialises in incorporating design thinking into evaluative practice.

Having completed a Master of Environmental Management and Development, Shani is proficient in sustainability discourse and has contributed to achieving sustainable outcomes across corporate and not for profit sectors in Sri Lanka. In Australia, Shani is deeply embedded in innovation and collaborative change-making.

At Clear Horizon, she applies her experience in organisational strategy, social business, evaluation and design to support social innovators. An experienced researcher and facilitator, Shani brings her appreciation for diversity (in thought and culture) and a commitment to collaboration to her work in design and evaluation. She is most passionate about community-led change and is committed to supporting people to shift the systems that they are within.

Topic: How can social enterprises tell the story of their impact: building a toolkit for the future

Synopsis: This session explores how social enterprises currently understand and communicate their social impact. It will then work with participants to identify a future toolkit that supports social enterprises to evaluate and communicate their social impact to a variety of audiences (funders, general public etc.). As part of the session, participants will also be introduced to existing tools that may support their social enterprises.
