SCHOOL EXCURSION PROGRAM
This school excursion program is ideally suited for high school students from Year 7 to Year 12
The re-generation school program will run as morning and afternoon sessions, so schools can choose which session they wish to participate in. Note: it is the same content for both morning and afternoon sessions.
Capacity is 300 people per session, including teachers - numbers are limited and therefore we encourage you to book early. Initial booking is required with a total number of students and teachers.
Closer to the festival, we will send you further communication to determine the session that students wish to book, as pre-booking preferred workshops will be required to ensure places are reserved for your students.

Deconstruct Fashion with Vivian Qiu
Garments contains stories about how we see ourselves and how we want to be seen. When the garment is on or off the body, it has a different meaning to it. We’re going to look at wellbeing and self-care through deconstructing garments.
In the Deconstruct Fashion workshop, students will be shown how to deconstruct and reconstruct a worn-out garment, through tearing, cutting, hand stitching and other techniques of fabric manipulation.
Students can make new work such as new garments, abstract sculpture or 2D wall art.

Careers in Fashion Workshop: Our goal for this session is to showcase to students that a career in Fashion has changed drastically over the years with a large focus on circularity. Embracing social media and technology, the traditional career paths are paving the path to fresh and innovative ideas. We will begin the session by asking students what a career in fashion looks like to them. We’ll get them to write their thoughts/ideas on a leaf to sow into a fabric tree. Then, bringing a diverse panel of speakers from different areas in the Fashion space will chat about how they got to where they are, providing valuable advice and guidance. We will then get them to write their thoughts again onto the tree to see if thoughts/ideas about careers in Fashion has changed.
