Explore the Intersection of Social Enterprise and the Creative Industries
After a decade working in remote communities in Africa, PNG and FNQ running safari lodges and resorts, Community Projects Worldwide was founded in QLD. We work with marginalised and disadvantaged communities throughout the developing world to bring their handcrafts to the Australian market.
Operating under the Fair Trade philosophy our social enterprise has been trading successfully for 25 years. We have vast experience in working with community groups and individuals, facilitating the importing, wholesaling, and retailing of their handicrafts. We have opened and operated 3 retail shops over this time frame, our Eumundi Square shop being our flagship store which has thrived for over 18 years. We have fostered and built meaningful sustainable relationships with our producer groups, adding to the health, education and well being of communities as a whole. Empowering women, especially single mothers and grandmothers, through income generation and training is a focus in many of our activities.
Join us at Collab Connect: Bridging Ideas + Impact for an inspiring panel discussion on how social enterprises are transforming the creative industries.
