Dr Melissa A. Wheeler

Senior Lecturer at Swinburne University

Melissa has a PhD in social psychology from the University of Melbourne, where she explored how people persuade others to agree with their moral beliefs. Melissa have an ongoing interest in the field of moral psychology and applied ethics, including workplace diversity and ethical leadership.

Melissa is a Leader in the Career Development Program within the Swinburne Women’s Academic Network, a member of the Human Ethics Committee and a Research Ethics Advisor, founder of the Gender and Inter sectional Research Community, Theme Lead of the Social Psychology of Innovation Group (Ethics of Innovation), and Co-creator of the Australian Leadership Index.

Title: Leadership in the modern world

Synopsis: Our experienced panel of purpose-led leaders and leadership experts will discuss themes and challenges of leading workforces through uncertain times. Each speaker will take a deep dive into a skill they needed to develop, grow, harness and embed in their organisation or current research trends and findings. Speakers will outline practical tips and advice for leading in the modern world. This session will start with short talks from each speaker and lead into a Q&A discussion.
