Kylie Charlton

Kylie is the Chief Investment Officer at Australian Impact Investments, a financial advisory group specialised in impact investing. Kylie leads the firm’s work assessing and designing impact investments for inclusion in the investment portfolios of its clients and, on behalf of the firm, serves as a Venture Partner on the Giant Leap Fund.
Kylie has worked at the intersection of mainstream capital markets, impact investment and philanthropy since 2004 when she joined Unitus Labs in Seattle to lead their capital markets initiative. During her time at Unitus Labs, Kylie arranged growth capital for microfinance institutions across seven emerging countries and was instrumental in the launch of the Unitus Equity Fund, the first commercially focused microfinance equity investment fund. In 2008, Kylie co-founded Unitus Capital which has since arranged more than US$1.6 billion in capital and established itself as a market leader in providing investment banking services to businesses benefiting low-income populations in India and SE Asia.
Since returning to Australia in 2009, Kylie has been a key contributor to the development and growth of the local impact investment sector and has written widely and spoken publicly on the topic of impact investment.  Kylie is a Co-Deputy Chair of the RIAA Impact Investment Forum.
Prior to transitioning her career to impact investment, Kylie was Vice President in the Project and Structured Finance Group of Citigroup, with more than 10 years experience in commercial and investment banking in New York and Sydney.
Kylie holds a Bachelors of Commerce (Banking and Finance) from the University of Canberra, Australia and Masters of Business Administration from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, England.
